Best Date Night Spots For Valentine’s Day
Whether you’re looking for a romantic date night out with your significant other this Valentine’s Day, or if you are avoiding the holiday entirely and plan on staying cozy on the couch, we’ve got you covered!
We’ve put together our favorite romantic and fun things to do in Madison with your significant other, best friend, or family.
Explore Art Museums
Chazen Museum of Art: is home to the second-largest collection of art in Wisconsin. The permanent collection covers diverse historical periods, cultures, and geographic locations. The collection continues to grow thanks to artwork donations and purchases.
The museum also presents frequent temporary exhibitions, broadening the offerings to visitors. These temporary exhibitions may be local, national, or international, contemporary or historical in scope.
Madison Museum of Contemporary Arts: is an independent organization that exhibits, collects, and preserves modern and contemporary art to provide transformative experiences that educate, reflect, and inspire us as individuals and a community. Works span the twentieth and twenty-first centuries and include paintings, sculpture, photography, prints, and drawings.
If you're looking to round out your evening, the museum is adjacent to the Overture Center where you can catch a show. Or head upstairs to the rooftop restaurant, Fresco for a delicious meal and incredible views!
Visit the Botanical Gardens
Olbrich Botanical Gardens; Bolz Conservancy: Forget about buying your loved one flowers for the Big Day this year, go see more than 650 plants representing more than 80 families and more than 475 different species and cultivars. These plants are native to tropical and sub-tropical regions throughout the world.
You'll love the escape to warmer temperatures as you walk through the tropical paradise year-round in Olbrich's Bolz Conservatory, a glass pyramid filled with exotic plants, bright flowers, a rushing waterfall, fragrant orchids and free-flying birds.
If you're feeling up to it, explore the 16 acres of outdoor display gardens and Olbrich's Thai Pavilion and Garden. Make sure to come back in the spring, summer, and fall where you can see more of what the gardens have to offer.
Watch Your Favorite Team
Take your partner or friends on a date night to watch your favorite team, whether it's Badger Basketball or Hockey at the Kohl Center. Or enjoy a Madison Capitols hockey game.
Try A New Restaurant
What better time than Valentine's Day should you and your significant other (or family!) go outside your comfort zone and try out new food?
We've polled our facebook friends, past and current clients, and here are some great spots we think might be worth trying: Graze, The Old Fashioned, and Fresco.
Skate The Local Madison Parks
Ice skating is a great way to break the ice (pun intended) on a first date or enjoy a special evening with your special someone. Check out any of these local parks with ice for skating.
Grab some hot chocolate afterward to warm up, or head over to a nearby bar or restaurant to continue Valentine’s Day festivities.
